Possible stress fracture? confused?

well i was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis, a short gastroc muscle (calf muscle), and my phys therapist thinks i have hip muscle issues. is it possible that i have a stress fracture in my heel? i have pain mainly i my heel but also in the tendon.. im thinking that i now have a stress fracture, scar tissue from tendonitis and a short gastroc muscle. i am getting desperate here. i know i will have to have surgery for whatever the problem is my whole issue is finding out the problem... i have been feeling pain since august of 2010 so its been almost a year (so like 10 months) . i am so sick of all the pain and stress and just crankyness this causes... anybody had tendon, gastroc, or tress fracture surgery? what type of doctor helped you? (sports med, orthopedic, podiatrist??) if you have any opinion on what i might have id love to hear it... thanks
