How much Vicodin should I take?

I just got my wisdom tooth removed and the dentist wrote a prescription for Vicodin. He said "Take seven". He didn't say take X amount every so often, just seven. He also said while I was on my way out of the room "Make the pain go away, make the pain go away". How much should I take?
